Is it safe to play guitar in the subway at night to earn extra money?

I'm not sure where you are from, but I think you will find that it varies from city to city. I have a friend who does this for a living (no other source of income) in Boston, and he loves it.





I am from New York City. In New York, it is usually safe anywhere in Manhattan because the subways in Manhattan tend to be filled with people most of the time. Once you get out into Brooklyn and Queens and the Bronx, you could find yourself 100% along in a station at night, and that's not good.





For sure, obtain the required permit. I'm sure in most cities, it's not worth the hassle to get a ticket or maybe spend the night in a holding cell.

yea, some area needs permit. Try to inquire on your city hall first.
