Trying to earn some extra money babysitting, how much is to much!?

Hey, I'm a 22 year old married, with a two year old son, I have my own Mary Kay busniess, which allows me to stay at home with my son during the day, and set my own hours, but I'm looking for alittle extra money and plus to get my son around other children his age. So I'm thinking about babysitting, and I'm wondering how much is to much to ask for when it comes to babysitting, I have a person who is very intersted in me watching their child every other Thursday from either the hours of 730am-500pm or 12noon-500pm...i'm thinking about asking $25.00 for the 730-500 and $15.00 from noon-500pm. The child is 2 1/2 years old..Is that a good price or is it too much? Or what are some other prices that i can offer?

Im not sure where you live but I think that is too much.Of course where I live we only make at most 9 an hour.I payed 20 a day for my 2 boys ages 5 and 3 and thought it was way too much.

have you checked your local news paper to check for prices that other babysitters offer?
Reply:Okay, since you're not really a daycare facility, about $5 an hour. Im 11 and thats what I charge and so does my mom.

P.S- I babysat my 7 year old cousin from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and got $30, it was easy money for me!! Report Abuse

Reply:Where I'm at (just outside Seattle), $25 is about the going rate for full-time daycare. At daycare centers, it's over $30 for a full-time day. What you are charging is exactly what I was paying- painful as a parent, but it really only works out to be less than $3.00 an hour, if my math is correct. I think your charges are reasonable. Taking care of children is an important and undervalued job. The care you're giving is worth it.
Reply:i say $100 per kid is way too much.
