I am trying to earn some extra money?

I am currently working full time but I am trying to earn some extra money. Is anybody here an Avon Representative? how does it work and stuff do you actually like get paid real money and what's the catch to it. Some people where I work at sell Avon and I like their product but they never tell me if they earn money from it. I actually went to their web sites and the only info I got is that u can set ur own schedule, u are ur own boss and stuff, but to get all the info u have to register so before I do, I just wanted to get some overall feedbacks about any body who works for them. I mean is it trustworthy do they mail you a check or what and can you quit whenever you want? and how many customers u need to have to make decent money.

Thank you very much for all ur answers sorry about all those questions though.

I am an Avon an Avon Rep! How it works it that you will pass out books, your customers will give you orders, you turn in the order to Avon, Avon sends you the product along with an invoice of what you owe avon. Then you bag up your customer orders, deliver and collect payment from your customers. You then Pay avon, you keep the difference between what your customers paid and what you need to pay avon.

You can quit whenever you want. There is no time period that you have to sell for. It is only $10 to start.

If you do into leadership ship, where you sign up new reps in addition to selling, then you will get leadership checks sent to you from Avon.

Avon does take some work, but you really can make some money at it. You can e-mail me at cherylhurst79@yahoo.com if you have other questions or if you want to know what I make and how many customers I have. I don't feel the need to post it for everyone, but I am very happy with what I make.
Reply:The easiest way is to be someone’s affiliate (selling other people’s products). You need to search which product to sell.

As an affiliate marketer you need 3 things in a program to maximize your income:

1) A product that people actually NEED.

2) A product that pays GENEROUS commissions.

3) A product that pays you residual monthly income so you can make a sale one time and get paid FOREVER.

Good luck.

Reply:Avon is if not the largest then definitely one of the largest direct sales companies in the World and one of the longest being around.

Their representatives do not disclose their incomes because your income will be entirely dependent on your own efforts. The more you put into it (time and money) the more you will get back. There is no catch to it and yes you do get paid. Avon is one of the most reliable companies around.

In my personal opinion, the company for being around for so long is over exposed and as such already has many distributors offering the same catalogue of products. You will have to find your own niche, interest and most of all clientele that will regularly order merchandise from you, which means you have to make yourself constantly visible to your customer base and really take care of them. Your income will depend on volume of sales and commission paid on individual items.

I personally would perceive Avon as an excellent source of extra income only, although their organization includes many individuals who enjoy much higher than just average annual income.

Avon is a business of your own and as such will not cater financially to an employee mentality.
Reply:I am not an Avon worker...but I have been in Mary Kay for seven years and Weekenders for four years...and I do know about my competition. I actually looked into all the consulting companies out there a few years back. Here's the lowdown on several consulting companies that could help you make money.

1) Avon: Makeup, Doodads and Jewelry. Commission 50% of what you sell. You are dictated a sales area up front, and you put catalogs on the doors of that area every time the catalogs come out. You do not get to pick your area. People order the product from you, you put in the order, and then you have the order delivered and you charge the customer at the time. If you recruit more Avon sales people, you make even more money. I'm not sure how often you have to order.

2) Mary Kay: Cosmetics. Same as above except no dictated sales areas. Also, you can do shows, classes, and get your own Mary Kay website set up by the company. You have to order $400 Retail ($200 wholesale) once every 11 months.

3) Weekenders: Designer Clothing. Commission 25-40% depending on how much you've ordered. Once you hit $5K in sales, your commission is 40% forever. No restricted areas...you have to order $150 Retail every three months.

4) Partylite: Candles. Commission...depends on that months sales...up to 30% if I remember correctly. You have to sell every month. Other then that, no restrictions.

5) Tastefully Simple. Easy gourmet food. 30%. Not sure on how often you have to order...no other restrictions.

6) Melaleuca. Non-toxic, environmentally safe cleaners and products. You have to order $45 every month, and your commission is 40%. However, the real money is in recruiting.

7) Pampered Chef: Cooking Utensils. Up to 40%, if I remember correctly. No restrictions on area. Large amount of money to start. Am not sure how often you have to sell or order.

and # 8) Naughty But Nice. Sex Toys and Stuff. Up to 50%. No restrictions...good money in recruting. Not sure how often you have to order.

Good luck.

Hope this helps.
