One is Elance which is a freelance site where you write articles for people, make websites, make graphics etc. People make a lot of money off it that are skilled at doing that type of thing, there is a lot of competition so getting off can be difficult.
The other one that I'm a part of is a GPT website. With these types of websites you fill out FREE surveys and offers and they pay you. How can I earn some extra money?
I'm 12 and I wanna earn some extra money because I'm saving up for a bass guitar. My parents don't have any jobs for me. Should I ask my neighbors if they need something done? Will you please give me some suggestions?
I know this should be in personal finances but I only got 3 answers there.

* Sell stuff on eBay but be careful and let your parents know first, just in case.
*At school, ask a teacher or the lady who sits in the office (haha I suddenly forgot what they're called. School office operators?) if there are any paid tutoring jobs in your school or the surrounding schools.
*Ask for allowance or if you have one already, (e.g. lunch money), don't spend all of it and same some, even if its just a dollar a day.

If I understand your question, you want to work over the internet but not pay someone for the privilege? There is a company called West.com that users at- home workers to process call in orders. Not great money but easy and there is no start up fees...Do not send money to any of those e-mail offers to work from home. I use it for Christmas money and I know someone who works lots of hours and makes several hundred every two weeks, pay depends on number of hours, time of day, and the company you are taking calls for. You do not call out, only accept in-coming calls.

It helps to have some background in journalism, especially a degree or a class at a community college, but not always necessary. It is important to know the basics of how to avoid things like plagiarism, libel, etc. Make sure you keep your records, including handwritten notes, and attribute all quotes properly.
Most research (interviews) can be done on the phone. It helps if you have a recorder of some kind and can hook it to your phone. There sell these things at Radio Shack. Also if you have a camera you can make some extra money by taking photos, too. What is the point of KiT (Keeping in Touch) days if you work a full day or even 2 and earn no extra money?
I mean who would work for nothing, cos if I worked 2 days in a week I would be no better off as I would lose all my SMP.

the whole point of keeping in touch days is that you can return to work for a couple of days to keep in touch with people and developments without losing any of your maternity entitlements.
at my company i get 10 KiT days throughout my years maternity leave i get full pay for each day i work on top of my maternity pay. this is not the case everywhere but if you do a KiT day you wont be worse off than if you just got your SMP as they still have to pay you at least this amount plus any extra for the work you have done.

Hey everyone. My parents said that if I could afford to pay for everything except for the initial cost, then I can get a horse! I have $302 right now and am trying to earn more. I wouldn't even visit the websites those people listed, let alone sign up with them. These people are the same vultures that search the questions and find ones like yours just so they can promote their own questionable company that wants your money.
As for myself...I was intrigued last summer on a trip to George Washington's house Mount Vernon. He made rum, super fine wheat, and sold barrels of fish. I thought it was so cool how he could make a living just on his own property.
Then I realized we can do that in modern times too! One thing you might want to consider is getting a wholesale license and re-selling on ebay. You can also find some very good dessert recipes and make your own little catalog and bring it along with samples to various businesses in town (real estate companies, office buildings, etc). If you're crafty, you can make your own stuff like jewelry and sell it on ebay as well.
Or if you're really motivated you can do all three of these things at once!
With a little hard work, inexpensive marketing, and outstanding customer service, you'll be well on your way in no time.

My own extra income comes from a website where I write about what I love most in the world - driving around in the Florida sunshine in a convertible! I put the link at the bottom if you want to see it.
I know a lot of people make websites for lots of different reasons. I have a lot of friends who are WAHMs. (work at home mums) and a lot of them are making pretty good money.

The biggest problem with a home based job is exactly what it says it is a job, but is more likely to be low paid and with no certainty of continuous employment, with those uncertainties and the tax disadvantages I could never recommend a home based job.
If however you wish to create an income from home, then a home based business is ideal. The biggest advantages are working hours that you can set to suit yourself, the opportunity to leverage time through the efforts of others, and significant tax advantages.
There are hundreds of possible businesses, but a business requires some capital to start up so I would recommend looking for one that requires less than €400 to start, but remember it is your business and it will only be successful if you are prepared to put some amount of continuous effort into it. It will take some time to build and get an income flowing, so I would study all opportunities very closely and see if your choice has any bonus schemes which can act as cash flow as the main income stream grows.
With most businesses it will take 2-4 weeks before the first income may be received, but that is normal, in fact most home based jobs will only pay monthly. The person answering the 800 number is a lady who works from her home. She takes the order and processes it through her computer to the company's shipping department and the supplies are shipped.

Reply:I would research for an in demand herb that's just used for medicinal purposes - one that would grow in your region, invest in seed and sell to chef's in your area or perhaps to pharmaceutical companies. Idealy you would look for an herb thats just not easy to get.

Reply:I would research for an in demand herb that's just used for medicinal purposes - one that would grow in your region, invest in seed and sell to chef's in your area or perhaps to pharmaceutical companies. Idealy you would look for an herb thats just not easy to get.
There maybe other markets I have not considered for herbs. Certain other plants maybe worth looking into as well.

At 10 years old your options of earining money are farily limited. There are only a few things that you can do.
You could try walking or excersizing dog. Find neighbors that have pets, maybe you could clean the cages, etc. You may be able to mow lawns, but many people might cosider 10 years old too young.
I would suggest just saving the $5 per week. It may take awhile, but you will get it eventually. You'll have it in about a year if you don't spend anything, plus people may give money for birthdays, holidays, etc. Best case senario you'll have saved it in a little less than 1 year.

I have been buying and selling shares on the London and New York Stock exchange for some time. By the time you make a small gain on the shares going up you have made a loss because you have paid £15 to buy the shares and £15 to sell them. I have looked at stock on the FTSE 100 and AIM (Alternative Investment Market).I have looked at bonds,government bonds,futures and options. i have even looked at spreadbetting to cover different ground when you can make money when shares go down as well as up. i have studied bull and bear markets all year round,commoditites and big picture events. i have even looked at the shares from a different angle by looking into Hedge funds and hedge fund managers.I have studied past performance from graphs to determine what would happen to certain stocks in the future.Warren Buffett the second richest man in the world has even come across my research. All i want to know is how do you make small amounts of money investing in the right stocks,so u can progress?

This is also a better stategy for 9 to 5 ers because you do not have to spend company time all day watching the markets. 3 times a day will be sufficient. Your employer will also appreciate that.

that used to happen to me in my last job, i used to be told at the last minute to come in on my day off and i rarely got my breaks even though i got docked the time as if i had taken them! i went and found another job and the next time they did something unfair, i handed in my days notice and totally dropped them in it! i know it was petty but it felt great after 5months of being used and doing the job of 2/3 people on a daily basis. hope things turn around for you hun =)

Good question, Granny, and I actually have the answer for you. Go to www.surveypolice.com where you will find a list of survey organizations who will, in fact, pay you to take surveys.
Now...pay attention: There are also a lot of "phony-baloney" sites who seem to offer compensation but who are really trying to get you to buy something in exchange for the promised reward. And there are "in-between" sites who run surveys and also pepper you with tricky attempts to get you to sign up with various deals. I call these "offer" sites. Get paid for signing up for an "offer." They are dressed up as surveys -but they aren't, really. And you can, in fact, come out on the better side of those transactions. I have, and I have the deposit in my paypal account to prove it.
So here is a list of what I call "survey sites," meaning real surveys that gather opinion data to help companies decide how to package products or develop some kind of public sentiment on the war in Iraq, global warming, etc. But before I give you the list, I want to give you some advice:
First, set up a separate email account (yahoo is a good place) to handle all the survey invitations and vast accumulation of junk you'll also receive. Its easier to manage this in a separate email account. ALSO, your "user-id" on most all survey sites is your email address, another good reason to have one specially for this. Also your actual physical address (where they send payments). Also, complete all the profile surveys, which can be extensive in some cases. They need this to make appropriate matches between panelists and survey material.

I have some free survey sites that are very reliable just check out my profile by clicking my name or email me for them. I only give sites that I've been paid by so you won't get scammed. They're all reliable and I've never had a problem with them. (I've been doing them for a year now) The best part is that anyone can do them and they're easy. You won't get rich but they definitely help with bills :)
